Silver (Metal) Leafing?

A while back, I bought this french provincial dresser and matching nightstand (for really cheap) off of craigslist. Since I purchased it I've wanted to change it's appearance from it's regular stain... paint or something. I first thought of painting it all white (or shade of white) including the pulls. THEN, while browsing the net I stumbled across My Champagne Taste's blog and spotted this magnificent diy aluminum leafed, french provincial dresser.

So, I decided that I HAVE to do this to my chest and nightstand! My only issue right now is free time. Metal leafing appears to be a time consuming project that takes some patience (and money) and time and right now... I'm 5 and half months pregnant with a 2 year old and I don't think I'll have the time to do this. :( *sigh* What is a busy mom to do. I think I'll get some quotes to see what area artists/gilders are charging for work like this. I'm hoping it's not ridiculously expensive... crossing my fingers. I'll let you know what I find out.

Nashville area singer, actress, model and DIYer. I have a love for music and the arts. I'm also a bit of a math/computer geek. I've always thought of myself as being artistic and have grown to love interior decorating. ... I like to draw, paint, create unique things, give life to old things and learn more in the world of design. I also enjoy spending time with my family, playing sports, hanging out with friends, and working on my health and fitness.

Let me know what you think!... and please be nice. ;) Unfortunately, my comments are moderated due to spammers and those who like to post horrible things.
