I'm not sure if I'll be able to do as much as I did the \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/diyprojectsbynina.blogspot.com\/search\/label\/1st%20birthday%20party\" target=\"_blank\"\u003Efirst time around\u003C\/a\u003E simply because I've quickly found out that it takes me quite a while to accomplish any type of project. These 2 little ones keep me super busy (and tired). It is by far my favorite way to eat cupcakes. No mess and when I'm done I just\u0026nbsp;throw my reusable jar in the dishwasher. I love being able to put ice cream on top and contain my mess in the jar. It's my favorite party\u0026nbsp;idea that never gets old... to me anyway. lol\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003ENow I'm a bit obsessed with backdrops. I just love the massive amounts of cuteness. Time is flying by and I need to get started like yesterday! lol I will say that this time around I won't invite as many people like I did for my first child. It will definitely be at my house and we'll probably only invite my parents and in-laws, a couple of close friends\u0026nbsp;and a couple of babies her age. I used a pack of (varying shades of) \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/shop.hobbylobby.com\/products\/cardstock-value-pack-615849\/?F_All=Y\u0026amp;paperstudio=y\u0026amp;DepartmentId=2870\"\u003Epink cardstock paper\u003C\/a\u003E from Hobby Lobby. I used all of the colors in the pack to create a pretty variation when done. I printed my template right onto my 8 1\/2 x11 cardstock paper. This way you don't waste time tracing around a cut out onto your paper. Remember this when buying your paper because you don't want to buy paper that's too big for your printer. Most home printers can't handle the 12x12 sheets. After printing out the template, it's time to start cutting. This may take some time so if you have a willing person to help please take it. You want to cut around both pieces. One of the 2 pieces has wings which are to be used to glue onto the inside of the other piece. To make it easier you'll want to score your lines that are to be folded. Every line (not including the outside line)\u0026nbsp;is to be folded. Is it impossible to fold your paper without scoring the lines? Of course not, although it will extend the folding process and take you a lot longer to fold on the lines. I pre-folded my pieces prior to gluing. You will need to hold them in place for a few seconds. I used regular Elmer's school glue. I tried hot glue but I don't think it's a good idea because it dries too fast before you can get your flaps into position and creates too many strings. I settled on Strawberry Nutrigrain bars, Dora the Explorer gummies, mini candy bars (Reese's, 3 Musketeers\u0026nbsp;and\u0026nbsp;Twix), Mini Fruit Roll Ups, and suckers. After I filled them with treats, I wrapped them in clear cellophane. I rolled out my cellophane and\u0026nbsp; cut it every 21 inches. This length is approximate simply because I measured my first piece and then used that piece as a guide in cutting the rest of the cellophane. I eyeballed it first to figure out how much cellophane I wanted. After it looked the way I wanted I wrote down how much I rolled out before I cut. A roll of cellophane gave me 6 sheets, that's the cellophane I bought from Joann's. The cellophane I bought from the Dollar Tree gave me 8 sheets at 21\" lengths for each sheet. The cards (folded) are 5\" x 6 1\/2\" so in Word I made sure my paper size was set to 10\" x 6 1\/2\" which is the size of an open card. I thought this was a great item to have and it was a hit. I used this idea and made it my own. I used 8oz canning jars instead of the suggested jars from the site simply because the cost to have the jars shipped made them entirely too expensive. I found these jars at \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/www.kmart.com\/shc\/s\/p_10151_10104_011W117178110001P?prdNo=1\u0026amp;blockNo=1\u0026amp;blockType=G1\"\u003EKmart for only $8.99\u003C\/a\u003E\u0026nbsp;for a case of 12. That was the cheapest I found. I did find some at Big Lots for $7.99 but they were 16oz jars... too big. The flash washed out some of patterns on the paper. It took me a while to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with the banner and came up with this popular idea using flags. I printed out the letters and glued them to my flags. For the small one's I used 5 sheets of tissue paper which were cut down and accordian folded. I guess I got excited and started making some stuff. One item I made was a pink tulle tutu for my baby girl in anticipation of her first birthday party. I may trim the bottom a little although I haven't made up my mind. I must say once I started it was pretty simple. I can go through and spell out what I did. Here are the supplies I used:\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E- 1 and a half rolls of 6\" wide pink tulle (find it where wedding stuff is sold in most craft stores)\u003Cbr \/\u003E- 1\" wide elastic\u003Cbr \/\u003E- 1\" wide pink satin\u0026nbsp;ribbon\u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EI started by taking the elastic and wrapping it around my baby's waist. She's currently 10 months old so I'm making it a little big. Most people will say to cut away an inch or 2 so it will hug your baby's waist and fit properly. Anyhow, I cut the elastic and hand stitched the ends together. (Since my sewing machine is put away I didn't feel like pulling it out and setting it up just to sew the ends of the elastic together.) Next I cut my tulle into strips. Figure out how long you want the skirt to be, double that and add an inch or two and cut your strips of tulle in this total length. You'll need to fold them in half later. Now cut your strips down the middle. My strips were about 31\" long. Now... it's time to start attaching the tulle to the elastic. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EHere's where I did my own little twist. I wanted a ribbon tie on mine and I hadn't found a tutorial on doing both an elastic waist band that included ribbon so I did my own thing. As I tied my tulle I wrapped it around both the elastic and the ribbon. I didn't do anything special or extra with the ribbon. It is not sewn to the elastic, this way it moves freely. In detail when I tied the tulle I folded my strips individually in half, creating a loop at the bend.
